Choosing Your Pharmacist
The choice of your pharmacist is as important as the choice of your physician. Your pharmacist is an important member of the health care team and is often the first person you see about a health problem. We consider our pharmacists to be the “gateway” to your health care, and not the “gatekeeper.”
Norman Rockwell paintings present yesterday’s pharmacist as a man busily mixing a variety of substances with a mortar and pestle. This concoction then became “the remedy.”
The pharmacist today still compounds prescriptions, but he or she has a wide knowledge of current medications. This knowledge is utilized to detect drug interactions, to determine possible patient allergies to a medication, to monitor dosages, to advise the patient on over-the-counter product selection, and to counsel the patient on drug therapy and medication side effects.
Your Drug Related Health
Jones Pharmacy feels a great responsibility towards its customers. The primary concern of the pharmacists at Jones Pharmacy is to provide the best health care possible in a community setting. We try to give our customers personal and caring service. There is always a pharmacist willing to provide advice concerning your personal drug therapy or side effects. Our pharmacists are also available by appointment to conduct in-depth analysis of your drug therapy regimens.
Our pharmacists feel strongly about your need to have complete and current information on health issues and the drugs you take. For this reason we provide brochures and information on many health and drug-related topics.
Community Service
As a service to the public, our pharmacists are available for health education programs for your group or club. We can speak on any number of healthcare issues including Diabetes, Hypertension, Over-the-counter Medications, Cholesterol Screening, and Smoking Cessation.
If you have any questions for the pharmacist, please feel free to call us at (509) 838-6451 or go to the “Ask the Pharmacist” page.
